Methanol Tech Grade 25L

Methanol has many commercial uses, including:
  • Fuel

Methanol is used as a fuel for cars, trucks, buses, ships, boilers, cook stoves, and kilns. It can also be blended with gasoline to create methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), which has lower emissions than gasoline.

  • Chemical building block

Methanol is used to make many everyday products, including plastics, paints, car parts, construction materials, and adhesives. It’s also used to make sealants, dyes, resins, and inks.

  • Pharmaceuticals

Methanol is used to make medical supplies like masks and gloves, as well as vitamins, hormones, antibiotics, and other pharmaceuticals.

  • Antifreeze

Methanol’s chemical properties allow it to lower the freezing point of water-based liquids, so it’s used as an antifreeze in windshield washer fluid. It’s also injected into natural gas pipelines to lower the freezing point of water during oil and gas transport.

  • Destaining agent

Methanol can act as a destaining agent in gel electrophoresis.

  • Renewable fuel

Renewable methanol can be generated from renewable electricity and used as a renewable fuel for cars and ships.

Methanol is the simplest alcohol (CH3OH)

Iodine 0.2N/0.1M Volumetric Solution according to Wijs 2.5L

R2879,88
Iodine 0.2N/0.1M Volumetric Solution according to Wijs 2.5L used in analytical chemistry for oxidation-reduction titrations, where it acts as a standard solution to accurately determine the concentration of reducing agents in a sample by measuring the volume of iodine solution needed to reach an endpoint in a reaction; essentially, it is used to quantify the amount of a substance that can be oxidized by iodine through a chemical reaction.

Sulphuric Acid 98% AR 2.5L In a laboratory, sulfuric acid (H2SO4) has many uses, including:
  • Creating other acids Sulfuric acid can be used to create other acids, such as hydrochloric acid and nitric acid.
  • Creating synthetic materials Sulfuric acid can be used to create synthetic detergents, pigments, dyes, and sulfate salts.
  • Processing metals Sulfuric acid is widely used in processing metals.
  • Acting as a catalyst Sulfuric acid can act as a catalyst in reactions, such as the esterification reaction.  In laboratory settings, Sulphuric Acid AR is used in titrations and as a reagent for various chemical analyses. Its high purity ensures accurate and reliable results, which is essential for scientific research. Additionally, it is used in the preparation of samples, pH adjustment, and as a dehydrating agent.
Sulphuric acid is also known as oil of vitriol. It is a colorless, odorless, and viscous liquid that is soluble in water. It is extremely corrosive and destructive to tissue, and can be carcinogenic to humans.  Sulfuric acid should be handled and stored carefully. It is incompatible with many materials, including bases, halides, organic materials, carbides, and nitrates. It reacts violently with cyclopentadiene, cyclopentanone oxime, nitroaryl amines, and powdered metals sulphuric Acid 98% AR 2.5L
